South Thailand

We landed back in Bangkok ready for Sam and Alannah’s arrival the next morning. After picking them up and getting settled in we went to Chatuchak weekend market. It was huge!! We spent around 3/4 hours walking around and having bites to eat. That evening the boys went to the cinema and we met later for dinner.

The next day was spent walking around the city in the blazing heat! We stopped at the Grand Palace which was beautiful! And then wandered a little more until we all got too hot and bothered and went to get ready for our night bus.

After 12 or so hours we arrived in Koh Samui! We spent the next few days relaxing by the pool and beach and eating amazing food. Unfortunately we had a few rainy hours which led us to play uno under shelter each day! The boys went to see Muay Thai boxing one evening while me and Alannah had some girly time over cocktails.  Koh Samui was such a relaxing place it was lovely and we all really enjoyed it. Then we headed to the party island.

On the day we were leaving, me and Alannah got up extra early to catch the sunrise on Choeng Mon beach –  unfortunately it was a bit cloudy.

We arrived in Koh Pha-Ngan, spent the day relaxing by the pool and then got ready for the half moon party in the evening. The pre-party was really fun meeting people, playing jenga, UV paints and drinking buckets. After one too many buckets we didn’t stay too long at the actual party itself but enjoyed the evening!

The next day we spent relaxing (sleeping) by the pool and went to Amsterdam bar in the evening to catch the sunset.

Our final day on the Koh Pha-Ngan we rented mopeds and explored some of the island. We drove to The Challenge Phangan first thing and completed the obstacle course a few times before it knackered us out! It was so much fun!! My favourite was ‘The Blob’ where staff members launch you metres off a blow up platform!

Then we drove to Paradise Waterfall which was nice and then carried on to Phaeng Waterfall which also had a look-out point. It was a nice day exploring the small island.

The last island we went to was Koh Tao. It was probably my favourite out of the 3. We stayed in a nice bungalow by the pier and had a little walk into the main beach everyday. We watched the sunset on the beach most nights, ate good Thai food and attempted to explore some of the island. Koh Tao is a very hilly island and you should not try to cross it on mountain bikes!!!! We learnt the hard way!

One morning we discovered haadtien beach on a walk at the south of the island which was nice.

On one of the last days we all went snorkelling and then to Nang Yuan island and saw the view point. It was such a good day and we saw some amazing things.

We went for pizza for our last night on the island and for Sam and Alannah’s last night in Thailand with us.

The next morning we were heading to Krabi to catch our next flight and Sam and Alannah were on their way to Bangkok to fly back home.
