Cambodia

The day we travelled to Siem Reap we unfortunately picked up food poisoning and it stuck with us for most of our time in Cambodia, so we didn’t have the best time here 😦

We saw the sunrise at Angkor Wat, which was beautiful, and explored the surrounding ancient temples for a day. We booked a Tuk Tuk tour through our hostel but at 5am after buying our tickets for the day he abandoned us and we completed the day on foot!! Seeing all the temples were amazing but walking the whole day in the heat and had not fully recovered from food poisoning was such a struggle!

We chilled by the pool at our hostel for 2 days to help us fully recover, explored the Siem Reap night market which was nice and made our way to Phnom Penh.

Only having 1 full day in Phnom Penh, we went to the killing fields, S21 museum and the royal palace. It was an amazing, intense and emotional day learning about the tragic recent history that Cambodia has been through.

Joe falling asleep on a bumpy Tuk Tuk drive!

The next morning we were up and out for a bus ride into Vietnam!
