We had a long drive from Tekapo to Abel Tasman National Park so we stopped half way and had a day relaxing at Hanmer Springs Thermal Spa, it was lovely!
Once we arrived in sunny Abel Tasman we checked into the nicest campsite we’ve stayed in in NZ (The Barn) and went on a short walk around the area.
The campsite was 5 mins from the start of the Abel Tasman Costal Track at Marahau. We walked a short way up the track and sat on Coquille Bay for a few hours.
We went a bit further along the track the next day and walked to Apple Tree Bay, spent a couple of hours laying on the beautiful beach and then headed back.
The next morning we spent lazying around the campsite getting ready for our final walk up the Abel Tasman Coastal Track.
We walked up as far as Akersten Bay, it was fairly small so we turned back and headed to Stillwell Bay where we spent the rest of our time at Abel Tasman – it was beautiful.
The beaches, views and weather were all incredible, there were just many inquisitive wasps and bees around!
