Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo

The weather was lovely driving to Mount Cook. When we arrived we walked to Kea Point and saw these beautiful views of the Southern Alps and Mueller Glacier lake.

We had servere weather warnings on our second day in the mountains and woke up to wind rattling the camper van and rain hammering on the roof. There was nothing to see outside other than a big grey mist and rain. We spent all day waiting for it to clear and eventually the next day was beautiful again! In the morning we went on the Hooker Valley track and walked up to the Hooker Valley lake. The 3 hour walk took us through amazing views of the mountains up to Mt Cook.

On our way out we stopped at Peters Lookout and saw the incredible Lake Pukaki, the colour of the water was beautiful.

We went to Lake Tekapo in the late afternoon and spent a couple of hours sitting by the lake looking at the views, it was lovely.
